What Does It Mean to Meditate on the Word of God?
Pastor Ignacio Hughes — 10-Session Series
Recorded in 2025
A verse can be read in seconds yet stay with us throughout the day, bringing clarity to a decision, correcting a thought, or strengthening our confidence in God.
Joshua 1:8 connects consistent meditation on God’s Word with faithfully putting it into practice. To meditate is to pause, consider what God has said, and allow His truth to shape our convictions and actions.
This 10-session series by Pastor Ignacio Hughes invites you to explore what it means to meditate on Scripture and give God’s Word an intentional place in everyday life. It is an opportunity to cultivate an attentive heart, reflect prayerfully, and apply what you learn to your conversations, decisions, and relationships.
Psalm 1:2–3 describes the person who delights in the Lord’s law and meditates on it as a tree planted by streams of water. This picture reminds us of the importance of nourishing our spiritual roots so we can grow and bear fruit in season.
As we treasure God’s Word in our hearts, we find guidance for walking in obedience (Psalm 119:11). James 1:22 calls us to respond by becoming doers of what we hear.
Open Scripture with an attentive heart, treasure its truth, and take the next step: put it into practice.
